mhm I tried the Theme Patch, Patchprogram was started with admin-privilegs.

those three files were patched by sucessful way but I won't get a theme started.

I use Vista Home Prem. with SP2 beta (build v113)

regards

deepxw said... December 29, 2008 at 9:13 PM

After patch, You need to restart your computer to take effect.

Btw, some 3-rd theme file are not standardized, and more stringent inspection on Vista SP2, so, these theme will not load.
You can compare the theme file with "Aero.theme", maybe less content.

This thing screwed up my computer. I ran it and patched the three files, but when I restarted my screen was flickering and couldn't log in.

Had to system restore.

Its not working on my computer, (windows 7 Build 7600). It patches, but nothing happens when I restart and apply themes. They only look like normal aero themes.

This patcher doesn't seem to work anymore. I also get a flicker screen at boot after installation (and yes, I didn't install the x86 version on x86).

I had to go to safe mode and restore the backup versions of the files.

Anyone know of a newer version that works?

Seem to be having massive problems using this.

I just did the patch and restarted and now the computer keeps getting to the log in screen, type my password and then it restarts the computer.

Im running Winodws 7 64bit, anyway to unpatch these files so I can check if this is the problem?

Im trying safemode now.

Same deal, without the flickering. Windows 7. Patched, restart, I get "no module name, press any key to abort" and it fails to boot.

Something this damaging should be removed until it's fixed.

Anonymous said... May 6, 2010 at 5:11 AM

so i loaded an ubuntu live USB, went in and changed the three patched files (uxtheme.dll, themeui.dll, and themeservice.dll) back to the original files, and STILL the same issue: can't fucking boot. That means you changed something that you didn't mention that's killing computers. Hosed my computer, thanks a bunch.

Anonymous said... May 6, 2010 at 5:28 AM

I managed to fix it! Lucky me, I was dualbooting windows and linux. I loaded a live cd and ran through a walkthrough on how to fix your master boot record after a windows install. This got GRUB back and working, and my computer's okay again. (i hope this helps someone else...)

Yup the patcher doesn't work no more. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate and all it bars me from logging in. The only silver-lining is that the same patcher has a restore feature, so went to safe mode to restore the patched files.

Meatty said... July 3, 2010 at 3:09 AM

Thanks.

Anonymous said... July 12, 2010 at 5:52 AM

Scared the hell out of me for a minute, got the flickering screen. Went into safe mode, undid the patch. The next time I started, I patched the files RUNNING AS ADMINISTRATOR and everything seems to be working fine. This is on x86. If anyone else is still having this problem, make sure you're following the instructions correctly, it worked for me.

I was trying to apply a customized theme for Windows 7.

According to Universal theme patcher, I patched the three files.

Then I had to restart my computer, and now that I did, It doesn't even log on to windows. Right before the system asks to log on to a profile, it says "please wait", but it never moves forward, the screen keeps turning on and off and says please wait but nothing ever happens. I don't know where to start to solve this problem, I could really use some HELP.

To ANYONE who is giving this dude flack, guff or any sort of trouble:

1.) You are a fucking MORON for yelling or cursing. Yes, I'm doing the same thing.

Here's why I'm not a hypocrite, he's NOT at fault, and you* (yes, YOU, fuck-rag, are a whining, sniveling, pompous little wind bag!)

- This is for a FUCKING PATCH THEME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- You people complain that this fucking BLOGGER site is "ruining" your system? Perhaps you should a.) Learn how to repair computers properly, or, b.) Make risky moves by trying techniques or using downloads from reputable resources. Without consulting any fucking RULE BOOK, by downloading from a personal BLOGGER.COM site, it's "as is." No warranty.

- So, to come back and call someone a douche or a scumbag or make a snotty little "thanks a lot," comment, all-too-passive-aggressively, as-if they just took your PC and smashed it; well, that's just absolutely fucking haughty. Chain-smoking little queens. Own-up to your own lack of attention to detail.

With the Godforesaken FLOOD of ridiculous*** backup software on the market (because people like each and EVERY poster before me can't seem to understand copy & paste to save files,) you'd think one of you fucking idiots would have known to back up your fucking shit. No.

It's "awww, mannn, YOU fucked my shit up..." "fuckkkk" "Mannnn."

So, I return to the point.

It's a FUCKING PATCH/THEME!!!!!

You don't go buy a slab of ribs from Tu Pac's Jerry Curl & Gat Store then go back & say "Excuse me, Mr. Shakur, these ribs are a bit fatty. I'm just not happy with the quality. I want my money back. EXCUSE ME, I'M TALKING TO YOUUUU."

Just as fucking outrageous and out of line as that lame example.

You morons call yourselves the technology generation. Shame across the board. This fucking person had the gumption to actually TRY to do something. How about some support and feedback?

Mike actually posted a language file in Russian. Holy shit! That's like Lech Walesa... the spirit of Solidarity. Yet, he's perhaps one of (if not THE one) who helps the problem instead of fucking spitting at the source YOU went to in the first place.

Shame on all of you. ...sniveling, whiny, fucking children who virtually want someone to chew their food for them.

1.) Go to therapy.
2.) Take your medication.
3.) Go to A.A. meetings.
4.) Drink before bed.
5.) Wake up and TRY to learn how to do something constructive with your computer besides living vicariously through imagery/graphics and Facebook.

(losers.) (And I rarely* get to call someone else that.)

This collective bunch of monkeys really wasn't deserved.

If I had to be forced to boil it down to 1 phrase it would be "You should be ashamed." 2? "You should be ashamed." (TWICE.)
